In a heartwarming, but unusual twist, two women in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, have ended years of suffering abuse in their respective marriages by getting each other as wives. The relations that started off as friendships, enduring six long years of sharing their respective problems and anguish on Instagram, culminated in love. These women suffered at the hands of their husbands, who were alcoholics and abusers. They decided to start a new life with each other.

A Temple Wedding and New Beginnings

On January 23, the women solemnised their love in a temple ceremony at Dugdheshwar Temple in Rudrapur, Deoria. They exchanged garlands and one applied sindoor to the other's forehead, symbolizing their union. The couple declared their commitment to live together for life, undeterred by societal judgments or opposition.

Their Backstory of Struggles

Both women left their abusive marriages—one returned to her parental home after being repeatedly beaten, despite having four children, while the other faced distrust and harassment from her husband. Their shared experiences brought them closer, and they eventually decided to take control of their lives and find happiness together.

Challenges Ahead

The couple, who intend to rent a house and build a life together, has sparked interest and received mixed reactions from the locals. However, with all the challenges they faced, they said no one could separate them at this point, and their love story emphasizes how love can prevail over any adverse situation.
