Shraddha Kapoor Surpasses PM Modi on Instagram: Stree 2 Star Now Among India's Top 3 Most-Followed Celebrities

Shraddha Kapoor has seen a significant rise in her Instagram popularity, largely due to the success of her latest film, Stree 2. The Bollywood actress recently surpassed Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Instagram followers, becoming the third most-followed Indian on the platform, following cricket superstar Virat Kohli and actress Priyanka Chopra.

As of now, Shraddha Kapoor boasts 91.4 million Instagram followers, just edging out PM Modi, who has 91.3 million. Despite this, PM Modi remains the most followed global leader on X (formerly known as Twitter), where his follower count surpasses that of other prominent world figures such as U.S. President Joe Biden, Dubai's ruler Sheikh Mohammed, and Pope Francis. Currently, the official account of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has around 56.6 million followers on X.

Virat Kohli leads the Instagram list with an impressive 271 million followers, while Priyanka Chopra holds the second position with 91.81 million followers.

Shraddha Kapoor’s popularity surge is also fueled by the positive reception of Stree 2, a horror-comedy directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Maddock Films. Released on August 15, the film, which stars Rajkummar Rao alongside Kapoor, is nearing the ₹300 crore mark in global box office collections. The movie has been praised for its strong storyline, excellent performances, and engaging content.

Stree 2 is part of producer Dinesh Vijan’s ambitious horror-comedy universe, which also includes other titles like Bhediya and Munjya. The film's music, composed by Sachin-Jigar, has also contributed to its widespread acclaim.
