Smart India Hackathon 2024: Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Smart India Vision, a nationwide Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024 is being organized to encourage students to solve real-world problems. One of the key venues for this event will be Galgotias University in Greater Noida, hosting a 5-day hackathon from December 11 to December 15.

Nationwide Initiative

The Smart India Hackathon is being held across 51 institutions in India, as part of the Education Ministry’s Innovation Cell initiative, in collaboration with AICTE, SBI Foundation, and I4C. The goal is to provide students with a platform to find innovative solutions to critical challenges.

Galgotias University to Host SIH 2024

Galgotias University is among the 51 institutions selected for this prestigious event and one of the 13 institutions chosen for the hardware edition. Vice Chancellor Professor K. Mallikarjuna Babu expressed pride in hosting the event and emphasized its significance for innovation and development.

Dates: December 11 to December 15, 2024
Participants: Around 300 students forming 40 teams from 9 states.
Focus Areas: Solving seven problem statements from key ministries.

Key Challenges to Address

Participants will tackle real-world challenges presented by:

Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) – Developing solutions to counter drug trafficking.
Ministry of Jal Shakti – Proposing innovative water conservation strategies.
National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) – Designing tools for effective disaster management.
Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) – Enhancing national security systems.
Cybercrime Prevention: Students will explore ways to combat and prevent rising cybercrime issues.

Previous Achievements Highlighted

Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Awadhesh Kumar shared the university’s past success in hosting both hardware and software editions of SIH. The institution’s excellence in organizing the event has made it a trusted name for delivering exceptional experiences for participants and mentors alike.
