Suresh Chandrakar Arrested in Mukesh Chandrakar Murder Case: The Chhattisgarh police’s SIT (Special Investigation Team) has made a major breakthrough in the Mukesh Chandrakar murder case by arresting the prime accused, Suresh Chandrakar, late Sunday night in Hyderabad. Suresh’s wife has also been detained from Kanker for questioning.

Mukesh Chandrakar’s Murder

Journalist Mukesh Chandrakar, a well-known voice in Bastar, went missing on the night of January 1, 2025. His body was later found in a septic tank on the property of contractor Suresh Chandrakar, a relative. Mukesh’s brother, Yukesh Chandrakar, had filed a missing person report after Mukesh failed to return home.

Police investigations revealed that Mukesh was murdered, and his body was dumped in the septic tank.

Arrest of Suresh Chandrakar

The SIT traced Suresh Chandrakar to his driver’s residence in Hyderabad. Over 200 CCTV camera footages and 300 mobile numbers were analyzed to locate the fugitive. He had been on the run since the crime came to light. Suresh’s wife was also detained from Kanker for her suspected involvement in the case.

Earlier Arrests

Three other suspects had already been arrested in connection with the case. Police are now questioning Suresh to uncover further details about the murder.

Mukesh Chandrakar was a fearless journalist known for exposing corruption and raising issues in Bastar. His murder has sent shockwaves through the journalistic community and raised concerns about press freedom in the region.
