Shocking Incident in the US: 2-Year-Old Son Accidentally Kills Mother, Boyfriend Arrested

A tragic incident occurred in Fresno, California, where a 2-year-old accidentally shot and killed his mother. According to reports, the child found a loaded pistol belonging to his mother's boyfriend. While playing, he unintentionally pulled the trigger. The occurrence, which happened at an apartment in northern California, has been described as a case of negligence that could have been avoided.
The victim is identified as 22-year-old Jesinya Meena. According to Fresno Police Department, the boyfriend of Meena is 18-year-old Andrew Sanchez who left the loaded firearm on the bed. It was in reach of the child, who picked up the pistol and, without knowing what he was doing, discharged it. The bullet struck Meena in the upper part of her body, which led to instant death.
The incident occurred while the couple was staying at the apartment for a few days. Police stated that the gun was found lying on the bed, which would not have been a case if the weapon had been safely kept in place. Sanchez has been taken into custody concerning the incident and police also seized the 9mm handgun, which was used for the shooting.
Allegations against Meena from her sister
Jessica Rodriguez, Meena's older sister, blamed Sanchez for negligence. She testified that Meena had consistently cautioned Sanchez against keeping the gun close to the child. He paid no heed to her warnings. It was this negligence that led to the death of her sister.
The police are continuing to question Sanchez, who is currently in Fresno County Jail. No witnesses have reported the incidence yet. Meena was taken to the Community Regional Medical Center, Fresno, after being shot and was pronounced dead. "How could anyone be so careless?" accused Lieutenant Paul Servants in disgust over the negligence.
The history of crime committed by Sanchez has been investigated. No prior charges against him have been recorded. The incidence raises a very serious issue of gun safety and responsibility by gun owners when children are concerned. This is one case which should be considered a tragic reminder that unsecured guns at homes could pose the risk of a mishap.
