The entire region is abuzz with religious fervor as pilgrims from across the country gather at the Vindhyachal Dham, situated on the banks of the Vindhya mountain and the holy Ganga River, to seek blessings from the goddess.

On this auspicious day, the four-armed goddess Maa Katyayani, riding her majestic lion, is worshipped. Her radiant form is said to eliminate all sufferings, and her blessings inspire righteousness among her devotees. The puja is significant for dispelling negativity and fostering spiritual growth. According to mythology, Katyayani is the goddess who was born to vanquish the demon Mahishasura and was first worshipped by the sage Maharishi Katyayan, giving her the name Katyayani.
