In a shocking incident from a village in Uttar Pradesh, a married woman with five children and a man with four children left their respective families and got married. Their families only found out about the wedding through viral photos posted on Facebook.

Woman flees with cash and jewellery

On April 5, Geeta suddenly disappeared from her home, taking cash and jewellery with her. Her husband, Shrichand, initially believed she had gone to her parents' house. But three days later, villagers showed him photos of her marriage with Gopal Patwa on social media.

Broken family, father now raising kids alone

Shrichand, once a vada pav seller in Mumbai, is now doing daily labour in the village to raise his five children. He says:

“I don’t want anything from Geeta anymore, just the money and jewellery she took.”
Their oldest daughter is 19, while the youngest is only 5 years old.

The incident has sparked conversations throughout the village. What started as a secret relationship was exposed through social media, once again proving that platforms like Facebook can both connect and destroy relationships.
