Caught on CCTV: In a bizarre incident in Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh, a thief was caught on CCTV bowing before a temple inside a petrol pump office before proceeding to steal ₹1.5 lakh. The theft occurred late Friday night at a Bharat Petrol Pump located on the Machalpur-Jirapur road. The footage shows that the masked thief entered the petrol pump through a field, equipped with a knife. Once, he spotted a small temple in the office where an idol sits. He paused, folded his hands in prayer, bowed respectfully, and then, using a metal rod, broke open the cash locker to steal around ₹1.5 lakh. The incident caught on CCTV cameras and its footage has been widely going viral on social media.Police are investigating based on the CCTV footage and are trying to identify and apprehend the suspect. The thief had covered his face with a cloth, but he used a knife to threaten or protect himself during the act. It has become a hot issue online for its unusual mixture of religious observance and criminal intent. The local authorities call for anyone who has any information to come forward as they push to identify the perpetrator.
