The theft occurred late Friday night at a Bharat Petrol Pump located on the Machalpur-Jirapur road. The footage shows that the masked thief entered the petrol pump through a field, equipped with a knife. Once, he spotted a small temple in the office where an idol sits. He paused, folded his hands in prayer, bowed respectfully, and then, using a metal rod, broke open the cash locker to steal around ₹1.5 lakh. The incident caught on CCTV cameras and its footage has been widely going viral on social media.Police are investigating based on the CCTV footage and are trying to identify and apprehend the suspect. The thief had covered his face with a cloth, but he used a knife to threaten or protect himself during the act.
