Jhunjhunu Roadways Bus Hangs Over Canal Bridge, Averting Major Accident
JHUNJHUNU – A major disaster was narrowly averted on the road near Khudana, Jhunjhunu, after a roadways bus narrowly escaped a collision with the tempo carrying school children. Its driver lost control on the narrow over Kaatli River bridge and its front end hung precariously near the edge.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened when the bus driver tried to avoid a tempo carrying schoolchildren that was crossing the bridge in front of the bus. The quick reflexes and decreased speed of the driver avoided a tragic collision, but the bus swerved off the road and nearly plunged into the canal below.
Fortunately, the lowered speed of the bus managed to play its role in saving it from a massive accident. No passengers, be it on the bus or inside, were hurt. Within a short span of the accident, the emergency services, including the Bagar police, arrived at the site to seize the scene and start investigating.
The quick intervention of the bus driver has saved passengers from a potential accident disaster by local authorities. Police investigations are currently underway to decide on the cause of mishap and whether additional precautionary measures need to be taken on the bridge going forward to avoid future repetition.
