Police have arrested a man for brandishing guns in a viral video and saying he wanted to become the “Don” of western Uttar Pradesh (UP) and posting it on social media, the police said.
Identified as Ritik Malik, he lives in Loni area in Ghaziabad. Malik had expressed his ambition to become the most notorious and most famous criminal in the region. The video even had background music to give it a Bollywood-like feel.
However, the police discovered the video showing images of Malik holding weapons and posing alone at various locations and arrested him.
UP cop’s tweet
Ghaziabad SP (rural) Iraj Raja hilariously quoted a song from the 1994 film ‘Vijaypath’ – ‘Raahon mein unse mulakat ho gayi, jisse darte they wahi baat ho gayee’ – to sent out a message to the youth. He also shared a before and after photo of the man along with the post.
Iraj Raja said another “great man” ended up in jail for his love for the guns. He said, however, the man had accepted his mistake and it was a big deal. Further, he also wished Malik for his future in prison, in a sarcastic way.
The before image shows the text – “Earlier: I want to become the ‘don’ of west UP”. The after image text reads: “Later: I don’t want to become a Don. I want to live a normal life. It was a mistake.”
Meanwhile, the post has left netizens in splits, with most of the Twitter users mocking Malik and hailing UP Police.
