In an unusual occurrence, a rat entered the Andalusia Parliament in Spain‘s Seville. This happened when the members were about to cast their vote on an important issue.
The video shows how the parliamentarians were freaked out by the presence of a rat. It was shared by Reuters and soon went viral.
It was when the regional speaker Marta Bosquet was speaking when she spotted the rodent inside the room.
Her loud shriek could be heard clearly on the microphone. She later covered her mouth in shock.
Several other members were also seen leaving their seats in order to find the rat.
It was a scene of utter chaos and the momentary mayhem was caught on camera in Spain’s Parliament.
The Parliament members had huddled to vote on whether to anoint Susana Diaz, the former regional president, as a senator for the region on Wednesday.
But the rat attack disrupted the proceedings briefly. Soon after the members again assembled and Susana Diaz was anointed as a socialist senator for the region.
Andalusia’s Parliament is located in Seville. It contested its first elections in 1982. The Parliament consists of 109 members elected by the D’Hondt system.
As per reports, it was a big rat. It was finally captured by a company contracted by the Andalusian Parliament.
