At least three Chinese nationals, including two women, were killed on Tuesday in a blast inside the University of Karachi.
The powerful explosion ripped through a van inside the University premises of Pakistan’s financial capital.
It is believed to be the latest targeted attack against Chinese nationals. (NEW PAK PM)
As per reports, the intense blast took place in the van near China-built Confucius Institute.
So far, the Initial information suggests that the two women killed in the blast were Chinese nationals.
Some others also got injured in the Karachi University blast. However, no outfit or group has claimed responsibility for this attack.
It is to be noted that in the past militant separatist groups in Balochistan have claimed attacks on Chinese nationals.
Since they have been working in large numbers in different parts of Balochistan and Karachi as part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.
Pakistan’s new PM Shehbaz Sharif also expressed grief over the Karachi blast.
