Butler, Pennsylvania: The shooter who attempted to assassinate former US President Donald Trump at a rally on Saturday evening has been identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks. Trump was seen with blood on his face as one of the bullets narrowly missed his right ear.

Trump's escort team quickly hid the former president and rushed him off the stage amid the loud sound of gunshots.

The incident occurred while Trump was addressing his supporters at an open venue in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Reports say that Trump is "fine" after being released from the hospital late on Saturday.

Who Was Trump's Shooter?

According to the New York Post, a gunman reportedly positioned himself about 120 meters away from the stage where Trump was speaking. The gunman opened fire from an elevated position on a manufacturing plant roof.

According to reports, at least three rounds of bullets were fired during the shooting, in which Trump was injured and one of his supporters, who was sitting just behind Trump, died.

The shooter was also shot and killed by Secret Service agents during the incident.

The police have identified the shooter as Thomas Matthew, a 20-year-old from Bethel Park.

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Butler police are investigating the incident.
