Manifesting the values of equality in the United States of America, democrats wrapped up the impeachment trial of former president Donald Trump. The Democrats opined that he incited insurrection after losing. Therefore, he should be barred from holding office again.

The presentations went on for two days showing graphic video from pro-Trump riot. The violence in Capitol Hill on January 6 was the first of its kind in US. Democratic impeachment managers called on senators to vote for Trump’s conviction.

“We humbly, humbly ask you to convict president Trump for the crime for which he is overwhelmingly guilty,” Representative Joe Neguse said.

“If you don’t, if we pretend this didn’t happen, or worse if we let it go unanswered, who is to say it won’t happen again?”

However, Trump’s defence side will deliver the case on Friday. They also argue that Trump cannot be held personally responsible for the deadly assault on Congress.

They call the trial itself as ‘unconstitutional’ because Trump is now out of office-trying to scuttle impeachment but to no avail. Although the Senate has already rejected this argument earlier.

But despite all the evidence, Trump still retains an unshakeable grip on the party. So that makes his conviction highly unlikely. It would take a two-thirds majority to convict him of violence. The impeachment wrapped up on Thursday.

To obstruct peaceful transition, Trump’s supporters had stormed the US Capitol building on January 6. The incident had led to the deaths, chaos, and injuries to many security personnel in the city.
