The opening of the Dubai temple gave out a powerful message of acceptance and tolerance on Tuesday.
Today, the occasion of Dussehra, officially marked the opening ceremony of the Hindu temple in Dubai.
It is located in the emirate’s worship village. Notably, the temple formally opened its doors to worshippers across the UAE on October 4.
The worship village in Jebel Ali houses nine religious shrines. These include seven churches, the Guru Nanak Darbar Sikh Gurudwara, and the Hindu house of worship.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence lighted a lantern in the temple hall on the ground floor.
Sheikh Nahyan was also joined by Sunjay Sudhir, Indian Ambassador to the UAE among other dignitaries.
The glittering opening ceremony also saw the presence of religious leaders of several faiths, business owners and Indian community members.
It is to be noted here that pre-registration is required to visit the house of worship. Worshippers can register on the temple website.
