Earthquake tremors in Three Nations, Panic as People Rush Out of Homes

Earthquake tremors were felt in India, Afghanistan, and Peru today, causing panic among residents. No reports of casualties or damage have surfaced, but fear persists.

Friday morning saw earthquake tremors rattling India, Peru, and Afghanistan, triggering widespread panic as residents rushed out of their homes in fear. Measuring 4 to 5 on the Richter scale, the quakes caused no reported casualties or structural damage, but anxiety lingered among affected populations.

In India, tremors were recorded in Manipur’s Bishnupur district, while Peru and Afghanistan experienced quakes near Palca and the Badakhshan region, respectively. Despite the absence of destruction, the unexpected shocks disrupted daily life, with authorities urging vigilance. These incidents served as a reminder of the unpredictability of seismic events and the importance of preparedness.

Earthquake in India-Manipur

In India, the tremors were recorded at approximately 4:45 AM, and the epicenter was located in the Bishnupur district of Manipur. The National Center for Seismology (NCS) said the earthquake had a magnitude of 3.6, and the epicenter was at a depth of 
0 kilometers. Though no reports on damage are filed, residents in the affected area fear hour-long aftershocks, staying outside their homes. Local police also confirmed no casualty or loss in property.
 
Peru Hit by 4.9 Magnitude Earthquake


 

An earthquake with a greater magnitude hit early this morning in Peru, measuring a magnitude of 4.9 on the Richter scale. According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the quake's epicenter was located 57 kilometers east-northeast of Palca, at a depth of 164.9 kilometers. The quake, even though it was deeper below the surface, made many residents flustered; they went outdoors just in case.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan was rattled by quakes at approximately 6:30 AM, with the epicenter in the mountainous Badakhshan region. The earthquake, 4.4 on the Richter scale, had an epicenter depth of 10 kilometers. The NCS reported quake coordinates at 36.32°N, 71.37°E. This has been the most active zone in terms of seismic activities in the recent past as over 10 earthquakes have been recorded within the last month.

 No Loss of Human Life or Property Reported

No major damage or casualties were reported from the affected areas. Still, earthquake monitoring agencies have urged all residents to remain vigilant and adhere to safety precautions. These incidents can also be lessons in preparedness, especially to those who live in areas with frequent occurrences of seismic activities.
