Terming the remarks as “deeply shocking,” the French Foreign Minister said that these despicable words are blatant lies, loaded with an ideology of hatred and violence.
In an official statement released by the French government in response to a controversial remark, the French government officially rejected the claims and said, “Such slanderous comments are disgraceful at such level of responsibility. We reject them strongly.”
The French government raised its concern with the representative of the Pakistan government in Paris and asked Islamabad to rectify the statement and return to dialogue. On her Twitter timeline, the Pakistani Cabinet minister, Shireen Mazar, had shared a story, drawing a parallel between French President Emmanuel Macron and Notorious German dictator Adolf Hitler.
“Macron is doing to Muslims what the Nazis did to the Jews,” she had written in the Twitter post. The French Embassy then retweeted Shireen Mazari’s tweet and said, “Fake news and false accusation.”
