French Parliament passes Anti Radicalisation bill

The lower house of the French parliament on February 15, 2021, unanimously passed anti radicalisation bill. This comes after a wave of Islamist militant attacks in the country.

It would help to keep an eye upon the mosque, schools, and sports clubs and promote French values to safeguard France from radical Islamist. It is one of the landmark projects of incumbent President Emmanuel Macron.

After more than 130 hours of intense parliamentary debate, the anti-radicalization bill was passed by 347 votes in the lower house of the French parliament.

In the French parliament, President Emmanuel Macron and his allies have the majority that helped him to ensure passage of the anti-radicalization bill.

After the lower house of the French Parliament, the anti-radicalization bill will undergo a review in the Senate dominated by the center-right opposition. Senate will reportedly review on March 30, 2021.
