Hafiz Saeed, the 26/11 mastermind has been sentenced to jail for 31 years. The anti-terror court of Pakistan pronounced the sentence on Friday.
Hafiz Saeed is the founder of the Lashkar-e-Taiba terror outfit. He is also the chief of Jamaat ud Dawa. The terrorist has been sentenced in two cases.
Pakistan’s court has also ordered to seize all his assets and fined him ₹ 3,40,000.
Also, a mosque and madrassa allegedly built by Hafiz Saeed will be taken over.
70-year-old Saeed has a long history of terror charges against him. In 2020, he was sentenced to 15 years in jail.
So far, the terrorist has spent years in and out of detention in Pakistan only.
The Jamaat ud Dawa chief is popular for his incendiary speeches against India.
In 2019, the terrorist was arrested, just before PM Imran Khan’s visit to the US.
Hafiz Saeed is the mastermind of the Mumbai terror attacks on November 26, 2008. It had claimed 166 lives.
