It looks like a giant white structure of ice from a distance. The 45 feet tall structure is that of an ice volcano. This ice volcano is the result of an underground spring in Almaty region.
This volcano formation is a result of the water that sprouts out from the ground and instantly freezes.
It is the second one that has been seen with both tourists and locals flocking to see the volcano for themselves and to sharing photos online.
However, the locals say that it’s the first that continuously sprays water out from the top, giving it a volcanic appearance.
But this formation requires three things- temperature, height of the surf and ice coverage.
Waves running beneath the ice forced water to spray out of the top of the cone. It is these running waves which give it a similar resemblance to the Kazakh tower.
