Two trains collide in Pakistan

Two trains collided in southern Pakistan on Monday leaving more than 30 dead, a police official told local media. The accident took place in the Ghotki district of the southern Sindh province.

Senior district police official Umar Tufail told local television channel Geo News that at least 30 dead were sent to surrounding hospitals.

The death toll may shoot up as there were still mangled train compartments, he said, adding rescuers had not been able to access them.

He further said that there were up to 25 people in one compartment which has not been accessed yet.
