NEW YORK — During his three-day visit to the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with 15 leading CEOs from American tech companies, emphasizing India’s growing market potential and investment opportunities in the technology sector, including semiconductors.

The meeting took place at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel, where Modi highlighted the unique combination of a burgeoning market, skilled talent, and a democratic framework that makes India an attractive destination for investment. He noted that the country is set to receive a significant $15 billion investment in the semiconductor sector, positioning India as a global partner in this critical field.

Participating CEOs included Sundar Pichai of Google and Jensen Huang of Nvidia. The discussions covered various key sectors such as artificial intelligence, quantum technology, biotechnology, life sciences, IT and communications, and semiconductor technology. Modi placed particular emphasis on the semiconductor sector, detailing the positive response to India's policies on semiconductor and chip manufacturing.

"We have received a good response to our semiconductor and chip manufacturing policy. Investors in this field are eager to invest in India. We are emphasizing chip design, and India can play a significant role in the global semiconductor supply chain," Modi stated.

The Prime Minister asserted that India's vast talent pool, expanding market, and democratic structure create unparalleled opportunities for investors. He underscored the importance of political stability in attracting foreign investment, declaring that India excels in this regard.

"You all have worked with India and other global partners. You can compare India with other countries... Political stability is crucial, and India has the advantage here," Modi told the tech CEOs.
