Over 160 Injured in Clashes at Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem

More than 160 people were injured in a clash between Palestinians and Israeli riot police at Al-Aqsa mosque and other parts of Jerusalem late on May 8, 2021.

The clash was broken out at the third holiest site of Islam which is also revered by Jews of Israel.

During the clash, people hurled stones, bottles, and fireworks at the Israeli police officers who used rubber bullets and stun grenade at the Palestinians.

According to the reports, the violence at Al-Aqsa and other parts of east Jerusalem left at least 163 Palestinians and six Israeli police officers injured.

This comes weeks after the tension increased in Jerusalem following Israel’s restriction on the access of the old city.

Several Palestinians were also ordered by the Israeli authorities to leave their home for Israeli settlers.
