PIA Resumes Direct Flights to Paris After 4.5 Years, Offering More Travel Opportunities
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has resumed direct flights to Paris after a 4.5-year pause, with bi-weekly flights on Fridays and Sundays. Following the EU's lifting of a safety ban, PIA aims to improve travel with in-flight entertainment and Air France partnerships for European destinations.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) resumed direct flights to Paris after four and a half years. PK749 was the first flight which took off from Islamabad International Airport on January 9, 2025 at 12:10 p.m. local time. This was a significant change in the beginning of PIA's international operations.
There will be flights twice a week on Fridays and Sundays. So it would be easy for the passengers. It has followed after the EASA ban is removed. Earlier, EASA had restricted the PIA to operate in Europe. It did so due to some concerns raised regarding the licenses that were issued to its pilots.
Special ceremonies were held to show respect to the event, and among the dignitaries present to send off passengers on the inaugural flight are Aviation Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif and PIA CEO Air Vice Marshal Amir Hayat.
PIA has introduced a wireless in-flight entertainment system to improve the passenger experience. The airline has also entered into a codeshare agreement with Air France, which will provide onward connections to 21 European destinations from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). This will benefit the Pakistani community in France and Pakistan by offering them affordable and convenient travel options while strengthening PIA's international presence.
