Russia Launches Major Attack on Ukraine: Missile Strike on Military Center and Hospital Kills 47

Russia has continued its aggressive assault on Ukraine, launching a deadly missile strike that has claimed the lives of 47 people and injured 206 others. The attack targeted the Poltava region in central Ukraine, focusing on a military center and a nearby hospital. The site of the strike is located approximately 350 kilometers from Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv.

According to Ukrainian officials, the missile strike occurred in Poltava, the capital of the Poltava region. This area is about 110 kilometers from the Russian border and roughly 350 kilometers from Kyiv. The strike involved two ballistic missiles and is considered one of the deadliest attacks by the Russian military since the conflict began on February 24, 2022.

Ukrainian President’s Response

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the nation on his Telegram channel, stating that a building within a military communications facility was partially destroyed in the attack, leaving many people trapped under the rubble. Zelenskyy ordered a full and swift investigation into the incident, while the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense condemned the attack as barbaric. Putin’s Visit to Mongolia Amid Tensions

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin made a visit to Mongolia on Tuesday, marking his first trip to a member country of the International Criminal Court (ICC) since an arrest warrant was issued against him approximately 18 months ago. The ICC has accused Putin of war crimes, including the abduction of Ukrainian children and their forced transfer to Russia. Before his visit, Ukraine had appealed to Mongolia to hand over Putin to the ICC in The Hague.

This missile strike underscores the ongoing violence and tension in the region, as Russia intensifies its military actions against Ukraine.
