Russian businessman Roman Abramovich and Ukrainian negotiators became the targets of a suspected poison attack.
The attempt could be a potential work of stealth by Russian hardliners who wanted to sabotage peace talks.
This comes as per the Wall Street Journal reports. The Russian billionaire was recently slapped with sanctions by several Western nations over Russian invasion.
Abramovich has been trying to bring both Russia and Ukraine back to the table for talks.
After a meeting in Kyiv, Abramovich and two other senior Ukrainian negotiators developed symptoms such as red eyes, painfully watery eyes, and peeling skin on their face and hands, as per sources.
However, it was not clear exactly who would have targeted them but those targeted blame the hardliners in Russia.
Now, the conditions of Abramovich and other negotiators have improved and their lives are out of danger.
May be the quantity was not intended to kill but just a warning to the negotiators.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy last week also said that his government had received offers of support from Russian businessmen.
Western countries including the US and the EU have imposed stricter sanctions against Russia for invading Ukraine.
