Taliban, ever since taking control of Afghanistan has faced numerous human rights abuse charges.
This has drawn flak from the world media and leaders as well.
As per the latest report, the Taliban murdered or kidnapped over 500 former Afghan politicians, military personnel and others.
This comes after the Taliban seized control of Afghanistan in August last year.
A New York Times investigation made these findings. About 500 former state officials and military personnel were either murdered or disappeared during the Taliban regime.
It also reveals 86 fatalities in Baghlan Province alone.
A deeper investigation suggests the Taliban is using the amnesty as bait in order to attract soldiers to come out of hiding.
However, the Taliban has been refuting all these claims of atrocities.
The extremists call this a propaganda tool used by their opponents to distort the world’s opinion about the Taliban.
When it comes to the Afghan opposition, the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan (NRFA) has led to a fresh wave of strikes on the Taliban.
