Xi Jinping on Sunday secured an unprecedented third term as the President of China. He elevated some of his closest supporters in the Communist Party and solidified his position as the country’s most powerful leader since Mao Zedong. As he addressed the press, Xi Jinping asserted that “the world needs China.”
“China cannot develop without the world, and the world also needs China,” Xi was quoted as saying by AFP.
“After more than 40 years of unflagging efforts towards reform and opening up, we have created two miracles — rapid economic development and long-term social stability,” he said.
With an aim to earn the tremendous trust of his party and the people, he vowed to “work diligently in the performance of our duties.”
Also, Xi was given another term as chairman of Central Military Commission of China.
