US President Joe Biden said that he is worried for Russian President Vladimir Putin does not have a way out of the Ukraine war.
And that Putin is also trying to figure out what to do next. President Biden was speaking at a political fundraiser in Washington. He drew attention to how Russia had mistakenly believed the invasion of Ukraine would break up NATO and break up the European Union.
What instead happened is many countries ended up supporting Ukraine along with the US and Europe.
Notably, Russia’s assault on Ukraine was beaten back in March by strong Ukrainian resistance.
Russia calls this invasion “a special military operation.” It has been sending even more troops into Ukraine to launch greater offensives.
France’s Emmanuel Macron May 9 came for dinner in Berlin. This “Europe Day”, commemorates the signing of the post World War Two Schuman declaration promoting peace between European nations.
On the other hand, for Russia, Victory Day has become more of a show day; it exhibits their country’s military might and strength of troops.
This day remembers the sacrifices of World War Two. As per Ukraine, it has destroyed well over 1,000 less modern Russian tanks on the battlefield.
It is to be noted here that Kazakhstan has already cancelled its military parade for the third year running. Latvia too declared it a day of remembrance for war victims in Ukraine.
