Was COVID-19 ‘man-made’ virus? Wuhan lab’s ex-scientist makes shocking claims

Published Date:

Andrew Huff, a US-based scientist who worked at controversial Wuhan lab in China, has made some shocking claims about the deadly COVID-19 virus. He has claimed that the COVID-19 was a “man-made virus” that leaked from the facility.

US-based scientist, Andrew Huff, who worked at a controversial research lab in China’s Wuhan, has said that COVID-19 was a “man-made virus” that leaked from the facility.

COVID-19 leaked from Wuhan lab?

“COVID was leaked from Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), a state-run and funded research facility, two years ago,” news agency ANI reported quoting an article published in the New York Post. The article in NY Post mentioned Andrew Huff’s statement in the British newspaper The Sun.

In his latest book, “The Truth About Wuhan,” Huff claims that the US government’s funding of coronaviruses in China caused the pandemic. Excerpts of Huff’s book have been out in The Sun.

According to New York Post, Huff has claimed in his book that the gain-of-function experiments by China were conducted with inadequate security, which resulted in a leak at the Wuhan lab.

“Foreign laboratories did not have the adequate control measures in place for ensuring proper biosafety, biosecurity, and risk management, ultimately resulting in the lab leak at the Wuhan Institute of Virology,” Andrew Huff, reportedly said in his book.

The New York Post report says Huff is the ex-vice president of a New York-based non-profit organisation called the EcoHealth Alliance, which studies infectious diseases.

The controversial Wuhan lab

The Wuhan lab has been the centre of debates over the origins of COVID ever since the pandemic broke out. However, China has been denying that the virus originated from Wuhan lab.

“China knew from day one that this was a genetically engineered agent,” Huff wrote. “The US government is to blame for the transfer of dangerous biotechnology to the Chinese. “I was terrified by what I saw,” he told The Sun, as per New York Post. “We were just handing them bioweapon technology.”
