Siddique also served three consecutive terms as an MLA in 1999, 2004, and 2009. In an affidavit submitted to the Election Commission, he declared assets worth Rs 76 crore and liabilities amounting to Rs 23 crore. His wealth included luxury items such as expensive cars and a significant collection of jewellery.

In 2018, Siddique's name surfaced in connection with an Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation. The ED seized 33 flats worth Rs 462 crore belonging to Baba Siddique and Pyramid Developers in connection with alleged money laundering and irregularities in a slum rehabilitation scheme in the Bandra area of Mumbai. This marked a controversial chapter in his life, though his political career continued to thrive.
