After Diljit Dosanjh Concert Athletes Upset Over JLN Stadium Condition
Diljit Dosanjh's recent concert at Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium in Delhi drew massive crowds and enthusiastic fans but has sparked significant backlash in its aftermath. Athletes working at the stadium have expressed frustration with the filthy mess left behind by people who attended the concert. International athlete Beant Singh also shared his anger through the same platform, Instagram, using a video that showed rubbish and litter scattered all around the stadium. Singh wrote, "The organizers do not respect sports facilities even in India. Important sports equipment used by athletes for events were damaged and heaped carelessly.".
Diljit Dosanjh’s Concert Sparks Athlete Backlash, Ticket Scams
This is the way of life in India where sports is treated like that, a sportsperson is treated like that and the stadium is treated like that," Beant Singh said, referring to events that render the sports facilities useless for days. He mentioned that the events would sideline athlete training for up to ten days. His frustration represents a larger issue that seems to be associated with how sports infrastructure is treated in India, where concerts will be held over the use of these spaces by those athletes who need them.
The case of ticketing scams, however, haunted the concerts. Fans coming to purchase tickets at the venue end up getting sold by third-party sellers many times. A fan talking to PTI said that he got a fake ticket outside and after paying a huge amount of money, got rejected from security. The case, however, seems to be a case of unauthorized resale as the organizers of the tour had put out statements for fans to buy the tickets only through the authorized ticketing partner, ZomatoLive.

It's even more complicated because Enforcement Directorate recently probed unauthorised ticket reselling of key concerts, which included Diljit's "Dilluminati" tour and Coldplay's upcoming "Music of the Spheres" tour. Raids in several cities brought to the fore ticket scams, practices of unauthorized reselling and overcharging at the counters. This gives a hint of ticketing security while large events in India will be conducted.
