Following her passing, her body was brought to Patna, where her final rites will take place. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar promptly directed officials to ensure that all arrangements were made to bring Sinha’s remains back to Bihar with dignity.

He wrote, "The demise of Sharda Sinha Ji, Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awardee, is deeply saddening. Her melodious voice echoed through Bihar and neighboring states, especially during Chhath Mahaparv. Her work in Maithili, Bajjika, Bhojpuri, and Hindi songs has enriched our cultural heritage. I pray for her soul's peace and strength for her family and fans."
