New Delhi. Introduced in October 2024, the Ayushman Vay Vandana Card under Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY is a game-changer for elderly citizens. It provides ₹5 lakh per annum health insurance to all Indian citizens aged 70 years and more, regardless of income or existing scheme entitlement.
This government-sponsored health card provides cover for more than 1,961 medical procedures, including pre-existing conditions, and facilitates cashless treatment at more than 30,000 empanelled hospitals.
Who Can Avail It?
- Any citizen of India who is 70 years and older
- Already covered under Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY will get it as a top-up
- Private insurance or other schemes have to opt for one
- Income certificate or BPL proof is not required

How to Apply & Download through Ayushman App
- Download 'Ayushman App' from Google Play Store
- Click on "Login as beneficiary"
- Fill mobile number, captcha, and OTP
- Grant location access
- Fill Aadhaar details and state information
- If not available, complete eKYC through OTP
- Fill declaration and family information
- Submit and download card on approval
