Jharkhand Elections 2024: Naxalism to End by March 2026, Says Amit Shah
The political rhetoric seems to have been raised as the Jharkhand Assembly elections are closing in fast. On Sunday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack against the JMM-led alliance, headed by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, by accusing them of supporting Naxalism in the state. At the same time, Shah declared that in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the centre is targeting the total eradications of Naxalism from India before March 2026.

Shah sounded bullish about the National Democratic Alliance forming the government in Jharkhand as trends of recent Lok Sabha election surfaced, claiming that in all 52 of 81 Assembly seats. Addressing a rally at Simaria in Chatra district he appealed to voters to 'remove the Soren government from here' alleging it worked 'against Dalits, tribals, poor, and youth'. He said that the JMM government feeds Naxalism for short-term political gains and has even accused the state government of misusing funds meant for the poor and the tribals.
The Home Minister further said that the BJP has taken Naxalism out from Jharkhand in the last five years and has vowed to continue in the same way. He promised to eradicate Naxalism from the country completely by the year 2026. He promised to take tough measures against corruption and claimed that all corrupt leaders of the state would be put behind bars if the BJP once again come into power in the state.

As quoted, Shah mentioned that in the recent Assembly poll results, NDA again retained 47% votes as it had in its earlier Assembly polls and in addition, it won all of the 14 of Jharkhand parliamentary constituencies with 8 million of votes cast in support of the coalition. A two-phase election for all of the 81-seats of the Jharkhand Assembly will begin on November 13 followed by November 20 election dates and vote counting shall take place on November 23.
