Noida Authority’s mega expansion under the New Noida Plan 2041 will impact 20,000 farmers, with land acquisitions in 84 villages for the DNGIR project.

In a significant move, the Noida Authority has unveiled its ambitious expansion plan under the New Noida Plan 2041, which is set to impact over 20,000 farmers. The authority aims to acquire land across 84 villages as part of the Dadri-Noida-Ghaziabad Investment Region (DNGIR), a project that could transform the region’s economic landscape and make thousands of farmers millionaires through compensation.

Land Acquisition in 84 Villages

Following the Uttar Pradesh government’s approval, the Noida Authority has proposed incorporating 84 villages in its land acquisition process, including 60 villages from Bulandshahr and 20 from Gautam Budh Nagar. The authority has submitted a draft to the District Magistrates of Ghaziabad, Hapur, and Bulandshahr, seeking connectivity approval between Noida and these cities. Originally planned for 80 villages, four additional villages were included later, pending final approval from the state government.

Phased Development of New Noida

The new development will span 209.11 square kilometers and is divided into four phases over the next two decades. By 2041, New Noida is expected to accommodate over six lakh residents. In the first phase (2023-2027), 3165 hectares will be developed, followed by 3798 hectares (2027-2032), 5908 hectares (2032-2037), and finally, 8230 hectares of land in the last phase (2037-2041).

Land Use and Compensation

Out of the proposed land, 2810.54 hectares will be designated for residential use, while 1792.26 hectares will be allocated for parks and greenery. Farmers affected by the acquisition will receive compensation, which is expected to make many of them millionaires, transforming the rural areas into urbanized regions
