Apple's highly speculated foldable iPhone is said to be slated for a late 2026 launch, with production going into high gear in cooperation with Samsung Display. The South Korean technology behemoth is to be the exclusive provider of OLED panels for Apple's foldable iPhone, pipping competition such as LG Display and BOE as it succeeds in keeping the visibility of creases on displays at bay.

Launch Schedule and Display Features

As reported by BusinessKorea, Samsung will start producing foldable OLED panels for Apple towards the end of 2025 or early 2026. The foldable iPhone is rumored to have a 5.5-inch outer screen and a 7.8-inch foldable inner screen, with an almost 4:3 aspect ratio, much like Apple's iPad series. This design would potentially enable easier app adaptation and UI consistency across devices.

Why Samsung Is Apple's Sole Display Partner

The report clarifies that Apple has picked Samsung Display only because it can minimize the crease of foldable displays by a considerable amount — which is a major priority for Apple as it enters foldables. Rivals BOE and LG Display are not being eyed for this model, according to reports.

 Pricing and Market Positioning

Industry insiders anticipate the foldable iPhone will have a high price. Predictions place the phone at $2,300 (around ₹1.97 lakh in India), significantly more than the present iPhone 16 Pro Max. Previous reports showed a range between $2,000–$2,500, based on market and storage options.

Apple is allegedly going to make as many as 15 million units of its foldable iPhone, much higher than earlier estimations of roughly 9 million. The company's foldable phone will rival those of Samsung, OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, Huawei, and Honor — all companies that have already gained a big foothold in the foldables space.
