Kia EV9 and Carnival Launch in India: Kia has introduced the new Kia Carnival luxury MPV and the Kia EV9 luxury SUV in the Indian market today. Both vehicles will initially be sold as Completely Built Units (CBU). Kia, already a popular brand in India with models like Sonet, Seltos, and Carens, is now expanding its presence in the luxury vehicle segment with these two new launches. Here's a detailed look at the Kia EV9 and Kia Carnival.

Expected Price of Kia Carnival and Kia EV9

The Kia Carnival is expected to be priced around ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Kia EV9 is estimated to be priced at ₹1 crore (ex-showroom). The Kia Carnival will compete with models like the Toyota Innova Hycross, Maruti Suzuki Invicto, Toyota Fortuner, and MG Gloster. On the other hand, the Kia EV9 will rival luxury electric SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz EQE and BMW iX.

The Kia Carnival boasts luxury second-row powered relaxation seats with ventilation and leg support, one-touch smart power sliding doors, dual sunroofs, a 12-speaker Bose premium sound system, dual panoramic curved display, Level 2 ADAS, and 23 autonomous features.

The Kia EV9 comes equipped with an 18-way powered driver's seat with memory function, 12-way powered front passenger seat, 8-way powered second-row captain seats with a massage function, a Trinity panoramic display, dual sunroofs, 10 airbags, next-generation Kia Connect with over 100 features, Vehicle to Load (V2L) technology, and 27 ADAS functionalities.

Specifications of Kia Carnival and Kia EV9

The Kia Carnival is powered by a Smartstream 2.2-liter inline 4-cylinder E-VGT CRDi engine, producing 193PS of power and 441Nm of peak torque. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The Kia EV9 is built on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and features dual motors with all-wheel drive (AWD) for the Indian market. It delivers a power output of 384PS and a peak torque of 700Nm. The EV9 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds, and its claimed range is 561 km (ARAI). The vehicle’s battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes using a 350kW DC fast charger.

With these two impressive launches, Kia aims to further solidify its presence in India's growing luxury vehicle segment.
