Mercedes-Benz India is now set to launch its upcoming electric vehicle—the CLA Electric—following the inclusion of the sedan on the automaker's Indian website. Globally revealed earlier this month in hybrid and electric forms, the 3rd-gen CLA is revealed specifically in its EV form for the Indian market with the designation Mercedes-Benz CLA with EQ Technology.

Mercedes Electric CLA Design & Exterior Highlights

The Electric CLA carries over the coupe-like form of its forebears but takes on a futuristic EQ design language. Prominent features are:

  • Illuminated Star Grille: An enclosed front grille with small Mercedes badges and an illuminated three-pointed star.
  • Connected LED Lighting: Streamlined LED headlights featuring signature three-star DRLs, connected by a central light bar. Aerodynamic gloss-black air curtains and 19-inch alloy wheels round out its sporty look.
  • Frameless Windows & Flush Door Handles: Upmarket touches à la the original CLA.

Mercedes Electric CLA Luxury Cabin & Tech

On the inside, the CLA EQ keeps up with Mercedes' top-end EVs with:

  • Triple-Screen Cockpit: 14.6-inch mid-screen touchscreen, 14-inch passenger screen, and 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster.
  • Panoramic Glass Roof: Fit as standard for an airy feel inside.
  • Ambient Lighting & Premium Materials: Trendy finishes to match Mercedes' luxury stance.

Positioning & Powertrain

The Electric CLA will be positioned over the A-Class Limousine, without direct market competition. Although worldwide specifications guarantee a range of 700km+ (WLTP) and quick charging, battery specs of Indian models are not out yet.
