Expanding its carbon neutrality commitment, Toyota has introduced two new electrified vehicles — the BZ7 EV and the Lexus ES BEV — exclusively developed to cater to the changing needs of international users. Taking its "multi-pathway" approach, Toyota is introducing various mobility solutions to drive its transformation toward a greener future.

All-New Toyota BZ7 EV

The newly launched BZ7 adds to Toyota's bZ (Beyond Zero) series, preceded by models such as the bZ4X, bZ3, bZ3X, and bZ5. The BZ7 has been co-developed with Guangzhou Automobile Group and Electro Mobility R&D China and has been launched officially in the Chinese market.

This lead Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) features a stylish sedan body and measures more than 5 meters in length. Fitted with advanced technology, the BZ7 is set to be the lead Toyota China BEV model. Toyota targets to finalize complete development and start commercialization in one year, reflecting its ambitious EV strategy for China's fiercely competitive market.

Toyota's EV Expansion Strategy

Toyota's BEV launches, such as the BZ7 and Lexus ES, are part of the brand's overall move towards mass EV adoption. While these new vehicles will bolster Toyota's position in China, there are no plans at present for their launch in India.

While India is still a priority market for Toyota's hybrid sales, its large-scale BEV plans are aimed at markets such as China and Europe for now.
