What’s New in the TVS Raider 125 Drum Brake Variant?

The TVS Raider 125 is now available with drum brakes, which brings its price down to ₹84,469 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Previously, the bike was launched with a disc brake variant, and this new model is positioned as a more economical option. The drum brake variant is offered in two eye-catching color schemes: Striking Red and Wicked Black. The design and aesthetics remain unchanged from its predecessor, and there are no modifications to the engine. However, the bike does come equipped with modern features such as an LED headlight, an LCD display, and various riding modes.

Engine and Power Specifications

Mechanically, the TVS Raider 125 retains its 124.8cc air-cooled engine, delivering 11.2 bhp of power and 11.2 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox, providing a smooth riding experience. For enhanced ride quality, it features telescopic front forks and mono-shock rear suspension, along with a comfortable single-piece seat.

Competitors in the Market

Honda Shine 125

The TVS Raider 125 will directly compete with the Honda Shine 125, a popular and best-selling bike. Despite its reputation, the Shine has often fallen short in performance. The bike is powered by a 124 cc SI engine that produces 7.9 kW of power and 11 Nm of torque, along with a 5-speed gearbox. It offers a mileage of 55-60 km per liter and features 18-inch tires, starting at a price of ₹79,800.

Hero Super Splendor

The Hero Super Splendor Plus is marketed as a family-friendly motorcycle, starting at ₹80,848. Designed for daily use, it features a 124.7cc engine generating 10.7 bhp and 10.6 Nm of torque. Like the Raider, it includes a 5-speed gearbox, with a 240mm disc brake at the front and a 130mm drum brake at the rear. This bike also comes with 18-inch tires and emphasizes safety features, such as an ignition cutoff when the side stand is down. The front suspension consists of telescopic forks, while the rear boasts a five-step adjustable spring system.

With its impressive features and competitive pricing, the TVS Raider 125 is set to make waves in the motorcycle market, especially during the festive season.
