Mangalore Surgical Error Leads to Young Man's Death, Parents Demand Justice
MANGALORE, India (AP) — A tragic incident during a cosmetic surgery in Mangalore has sparked outrage among the family of a 32-year-old man who died following the procedure. Muhammad Mazin, a resident of Ullal's Akkarekere, was undergoing surgery for gynecomastia at the Flont Cosmetic Surgery and Hair Transplant Clinic in Bendorewell when the complications arose.
The South Kannada District Health Department is treating the case with utmost seriousness. District Health Officer Dr. Timmayya visited the clinic to gather information after reports surfaced about Mazin's unexpected decline during surgery.
Mazin's surgery, expected to last only half an hour, extended into the evening, raising alarms among his concerned parents. When they inquired about their son's condition, they were informed that his health had deteriorated. Alarmed, they rushed him to a local private hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The family alleges that medical negligence during the surgery led to his untimely death.
Local police at Kadri station have filed a case and initiated an investigation into the matter.
Dr. Timmayya stated that the incident is being treated as serious, and they are collecting information from the clinic’s staff and management. "We will conduct a preliminary investigation and report our findings to the district administration," he said.
The Health Department is set to form a committee for a comprehensive investigation, and they will report their findings to Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, ensuring that appropriate action is taken against those responsible.
