Scandal Alert: MP Lehar Singh Siroya Calls for Resignations Amid Muda and Valmiki Controversies!

In a political drama that’s making waves across Karnataka, MP Lehar Singh Siroya has taken a bold stand, demanding the resignations of fellow MPs G. Kumar Nayak and E. Tukaram amid allegations of corruption linked to the Muda (Mysore Urban Development Authority) and Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation scandals.

A Storm in the Political Teacup

On October 18, Siroya publicly criticized Congress leaders for their silence regarding the ongoing investigations into these high-profile corruption cases. He emphasized that Kumar Nayak’s involvement in the Muda scandal was brought to light during a High Court inquiry, prompting questions about why no one was speaking up. “Why is everyone mum? Why the silence?” he pressed.

Allegations Fly Like Confetti!

Kumar Nayak, who previously served as the Deputy Commissioner of Mysore, has been accused of submitting false reports regarding the Muda scandal and allegedly playing a role in the irregularities. If he resigns, it could open the door for Congress to grant a ticket for the Raichur Lok Sabha constituency. This is particularly interesting since Kumar Nayak has been known to operate closely with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge.

Siroya has called for both Kumar Nayak and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to resign immediately. He has also suggested that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Lokayukta issue notices to Kumar Nayak, ensuring he appears for questioning.

Crumbling Towers of Power

Adding fuel to the fire, CM Siddaramaiah’s close aide, Marigowda, recently resigned from the Muda chairmanship, a move that has further complicated matters for the government. Siroya stated that this resignation is unlikely to resolve the issues surrounding the Muda scandal, which he believes is deepening rather than dissipating.

There are also serious accusations that Siddaramaiah misused his power for personal gain concerning land deals involving family members. Despite a High Court order for an investigation, he has yet to file any appeals, raising eyebrows and questions about his motives. Is he afraid of the Supreme Court picking up the case?

Valmiki Development Corporation Under Scrutiny

In connection with the Valmiki Development Corporation, the ED has already filed a charge sheet alleging misuse of funds in the Ballari elections, implicating E. Tukaram in the scandal. Siroya insists that Tukaram should also step down from his parliamentary position in light of these allegations.

As the drama unfolds, Siroya has called for full accountability across the board, stating that no one should receive a clean chit without a thorough investigation. He also pointed out the need for the ED to pay attention to statements made by former minister B. Nagendra after his release from jail, which might shed more light on these complex issues.
