Chennai News: Diamond Necklace Worth Rs 5 Lakh Found In Garbage Bin

A diamond necklace valued at Rs 5 lakh was recovered from a garbage bin in Chennai, thanks to the diligent efforts of the city's sanitation workers.

The necklace, a wedding gift from Devaraj's mother to his daughter, had been accidentally discarded, India Today reported. Realizing the mistake, Devaraj promptly contacted the authorities for assistance.

The search operation was spearheaded by J. Anthonysamy, a driver with Urbaser Sumeet, the waste management company contracted by the Chennai Corporation. Senior officials closely monitored the recovery process to ensure success.

After a thorough search, the valuable necklace was found tangled in a garland inside one of the waste bins.

Devaraj expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Anthonysamy and the entire garbage collection team for their quick and effective response in recovering the precious item.
