Delhi May Get Two Deputy CMs! BJP’s Strategy for Government Formation

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is considering appointing two Deputy Chief Ministers in Delhi, similar to the model followed in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. The party aims to represent the capital as a ‘Mini India’, balancing caste and regional equations.

BJP’s Plan for Two Deputy Chief Ministers in Delhi

After winning a clear majority in the Delhi Assembly elections, the BJP is strategizing its government formation. Reports suggest that the party is deliberating on appointing two Deputy CMs to create a more inclusive governance structure. This move could help BJP strengthen its voter base among different communities and regions in Delhi.

Why BJP is Considering Two Deputy CMs?

BJP has previously implemented the two Deputy CM model in states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan to balance political dynamics. Now, the party is looking to replicate this in Delhi to:

Represent diverse communities in leadership positions.
Strengthen its regional and caste-based support in the capital.
Position Delhi as a symbol of national unity and diversity.

Government Formation After PM Modi’s Return

According to BJP leaders, the final decision on two Deputy CMs and other key ministers will be taken by the party’s central leadership. The government formation process is expected to accelerate after Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns from his foreign visit.

Meanwhile, the BJP Legislative Party meeting is likely to be held on Sunday, where the Leader of the House (next Chief Minister) will be selected.
