BJP Unveils Array of Promises for Delhi Election: Key Highlights from the Party’s Manifesto

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has come out with the second installment of its manifesto for the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections. Former Union Minister and Member of Parliament Anurag Thakur made the announcement at a press conference in Delhi, where he unveiled a series of promises to tackle corruption, improve social welfare programs, and boost opportunities for students, workers, and vulnerable communities.

Key Highlights from the Second Release

1. Zero Tolerance for Corruption
Investigation into Alleged Misuse of Public Funds: Thakur announced the setting up of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe alleged irregularities in the "Sheesh Mahal" project and Mohalla Clinics.

Transparency Focus: The BJP promises zero tolerance for corruption in all government departments.

2. Free Education from KG to PG
Free Education in Public Schools: A free education through postgraduate level from kindergarten for underprivileged students enrolled in public school education in the capital will also be ensured when the BJP wins the election

3. Competition as well as Education Expenses Support
One-Time support: One time financial support for INR 15,000 will be offered to underprivileged contenders for UPSC and other entrance exams.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Stipend Yojana: Scheduled Caste students in IITs, skill centers, or polytechnics will get a monthly stipend of INR 1,000.

4. Welfare Board for Auto & Taxi Drivers
All-Round Coverage: The BJP promises to constitute an Auto and Taxi Welfare Board with the benefits of INR 10 lakh life insurance, INR 5 lakh accident insurance, scholarships for children, and subsidized vehicle insurance.

5. Women & Domestic Workers End
Paid Maternity Leave: A promise of six months of paid maternity leave.

Domestic Worker Welfare Board: The new board will be responsible for social security measures, such as extra benefits and protection for domestic workers.

6. PM SVANidhi Scheme
Beneficiary Base Doubling: The BJP plans to double the number of beneficiaries under the PM SVANidhi scheme, which provides collateral-free working capital loans to street vendors.

Building a "Better Today and Better Tomorrow"

While releasing the second installment of the party’s manifesto, MP Anurag Thakur emphasized the importance of Delhi’s role in realizing a “Developed India.” He reiterated that the BJP is committed to solving issues related to health, transportation, electricity, water, and infrastructure. With the vision of a “better today and better tomorrow,” the BJP plans to address Delhi’s pressing challenges through targeted reforms and welfare initiatives.


First Part of the Manifesto (Three Days Before)

On January 17, BJP National President J.P. Nadda came out with the first part of the party's manifesto described as "the foundation for a developed Delhi". Among the major promises were:

Monthly Allowances to Women: The party assured the women that it will give INR 2,500 per month and also increase the old-age pension from INR 2,000 to INR 2,500.
Higher Pension for Vulnerable Groups: Senior citizens above 70, persons with disabilities, and widows would get INR 3,000 per month.
Subsidized LPG Cylinders: Low-income women would get a subsidy of INR 500 per cylinder and one free cylinder on Holi and Diwali.
Maternity Support: Pregnant women would get INR 21,000 and six nutritional kits under the Matru Suraksha Vandana Yojana.
Atal Canteens People residing in slum areas will have meal availability at just INR 5 under the same.
