Delhi Tourist Murdered in Goa Beach Robbery: Trio Arrested
A tragic incident unfolded at Baga Beach in Goa, where a 20-year-old visitor from Delhi was fatally attacked while resisting a robbery attempt. The victim, identified as Harish Tanwar, was discovered dead at the beach on Monday morning, following a violent confrontation with three individuals who had targeted him for theft.
According to authorities, the assault occurred late Sunday night. Harish Tanwar was seated alone in a quiet spot at Baga Beach when the three accused attempted to steal his bag. When Tanwar resisted their advance, one of the attackers stabbed him, leading to his immediate death during the ensuing struggle.
The three suspects, Sahil Kumar, Noor Khan, and Sunil Vishwakarma, were apprehended by the police on Tuesday. Kumar, originally from Uttarakhand, and Vishwakarma, who hails from Nepal, have prior records of petty theft. Noor Khan, from Uttar Pradesh, worked as a tailor in Calangute and lived in the nearby Parra area.
The suspects confessed to the crime during interrogation. Following their arrest, they were presented before the Judicial Magistrate First Class in Mapusa, where they were remanded to four days of judicial custody.
