As Delhi ushers in 2025 with a lot of enthusiasm, it has banned major traffic across the national capital on December 31, especially near Connaught Place and India Gate.
Delhi Traffic Police, in a series of Tweets, announced that special provisions have been made to regulate traffic movement and provide safety.

Connaught Place will be closed from 8 PM on December 31 when the celebrations conclude. Below are the restrictions at several entry points of Connaught Place.

Mandi House Roundabout

Bengali Market Roundabout

Ranjit Singh Flyover (north end)

Minto Road-Deen Dayal Upadhyay Crossing

Chelmsford Road (near New Delhi Railway Station)

RK Ashram Marg-Chitragupt Marg Crossing

Only vehicles with valid passes will be allowed inside Connaught Place, and there will be designated parking areas nearby. Illegal parking will be towed.

India Gate Traffic Diversions

To control the expected crowds at India Gate, traffic in the C-Hexagon area will be restricted and diverted from places like:

Q-Point

Mandi House

Sunehri Masjid Roundabout

Rajpath-Rafi Marg

Police advise to use public transport as parking near India Gate is scarce.

Safety Protocols for a Joyous Celebration

Use public transport as much as possible

Avoid crowded places

Obey traffic rules and avoid drunk driving, speeding, or stunt biking.

Delhi Police has threatened to take strict action against violations to ensure a safe and hassle-free New Year celebration.
