In a shocking incident that took place in Gurugram, a woman and her little son had to live a nightmare when a cab driver held them at gunpoint and threatened to kill them if she did not transfer ₹55,000 into his account. This incident occurred when the mother with her son boarded a cab for a routine ride without realizing the nightmare that lay ahead.

The driver, identified as Manjeet, picked up the woman and her son from their location in Gurugram for a ride to their destination. The situation took a sinister turn during the journey. The driver, who seemed calm initially, suddenly pulled out a firearm and threatened the woman, demanding she immediately transfer ₹55,000 to his bank account or face deadly consequences.

The woman was in a state of panic, fearing for herself and her son's life, so she had to give in to the driver's demands. She transferred the money to the account provided by the driver, who kept warning them after the transaction had been completed.

The ordeal did not stop there. The driver further intimidated the woman and her son, holding them captive for a while before letting them go. From there, the woman immediately contacted the police who swiftly launched an investigation.

Based on the details of the car and mobile location data, police traced the driver and nabbed Manjeet. According to reports, while interrogating him, he also admitted to the crime. Manjeet was sent behind the bars for robbery and criminal intimidation along with some other crimes.

The dreadful incident has shaken the very core of the local community and raised a question in the minds of the city passengers on the safety of using cab services. In this regard, the police have requested citizens to remain alert while using private cabs and to prefer well-known cab services with proper safety measures, such as tracking and driver verification.
