Actor Diljit Dosanjh served legal notice before Hyderabad concert for promoting alcohol, drugs, and violence

The famous Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh would encounter legal action against him before the much-talked-about Dil-Luminati concert of Diljit in Hyderabad on Friday. The Telangana government issued a legal notice to Dosanjh stating that the singer will not be permitted to perform during the concert those songs that promote alcohol, drugs and violence. The legal notice was issued after taking cognisance of the complaint of Professor Panditrao Dharenavar of Chandigarh who could submit video evidence about those performances by the singer, which are detrimental to the social welfare as they promote delinquent practices.
A legal notice issued on 7 November was forwarded by the Department of Welfare of Women and Children of Rangareddy district with the intention of getting the concert in conformation with safety and public health measures. According to the notice, the complainant submitted videos in which Diljit Dosanjh is seen singing songs that have lyrics of drink and drugs and violence at his live show at Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in October last year. The Telangana government fears that such content may have an adverse influence on the audience, especially the young concert-goers.
A notice further warns Diljit Dosanjh through which the management urges him to take proper care of children while performing live events, as WHO has classified the decibel sound level criteria for live concerts. It also mentions not to bring children on stage as it contains exceeding safe decibel levels. The notice also states that the noise level during the concert will be levelled out, and children under the age of 13 are vulnerable to such conditions.
The Dil-Luminati concert would pull in over 20,000 spectators to the GMR Arena, Hyderabad, bringing in a multitude of police security for crowd control, traffic management, and maintaining public safety. Diljit Dosanjh was also seen participating enthusiastically in the program by posting some photographs from his experience in Hyderabad with the auto-rickshaw and visit to the famous Charminar.
As the concert date draws near, all eyes will be on whether Diljit Dosanjh complies with the legal notice or further legal actions are to be followed. His fans are eagerly awaiting what promises to be a high-energy show, but recent legal challenges have cast a shadow upon the event as they raise questions about artistic expression and public responsibility.
